Finally figured out how to use the photo enlarger to my advantage! I print out a small version of the reference photo to put on the enlarger, then sketch it out. Then I use a larger version of the reference photo for colors, shading, etc. Now I've got 8 panels ready and waiting for paint!

Love the new Lucy photo copier. This pic doesn't do the painting justice. I printed a 4x6 pic and copied it to a 12x16 canvas. It took a whole afternoon and part of the next morning to get the likeness the way I wanted. I'm very happy with the result. I no longer need large format prints, tracing paper, carbon paper, and a stylist to transfer photos to canvas. Lucy makes it simple.

This is great for allowing you to put a picture on you're lucy and view it with a lens and works amazingly. The bag is also great and allows for easy travel. I have to say this is the best investment I ever placed. Wow, this really made a difference. I save a lot of time drawing and my drawings are a lot better. The proportions are accurate. No more drawing in the dark for me. The little booklet and the videos were very helpful and clear. Excellent service without speaking with anyone. The photo inlarger is great for recreting old family photos. Any photo bigger than a 5 by 7 inches this item doesn't really work great for but those classic candid family photos from years ago work great. The bag is nice and supplies many pockets for the different accessories. Over all it is a good add on piece.

With both the Lucy and the Photo enlarger I am having a difficult time in seeing my hand to draw. The photo enlarger makes the photo so large that it doesn't fit on the paper I want to transfer it to. I have wondered if the fact that I wear glasses has anything to do with my struggle. Sure could use some help figuring this out. The concept is good but its just not working for me. I would hate to put it away to gather dust as its not an inexpensive tool.

I use this for getting my initial drawing on paper. It does take some getting used to using. You need patience. The image is light, but the tool is only an aid. It won't draw the picture for you. This type of device was used by some of the great masters, so it's good enough for me.
