It’s going to take a while for me to learn how to use the Mini but I think that once I get the hang of it I can draw still life’s much easier.
Virginia R.
I struggled to get it put together. Then when I watched subsequent instructions I had to disassemble the parts I struggled with in order to reassemble for different angles. I'm not real happy with the Lucy. When I look into the lens, I don't see the object I want to trace as clearly as I would have liked.
Cheri M.
Very easy to use and I am impressing everyone with my drawings.
Sheran G.
Loves it!!
Jorge
Takes a bit to get used, but it is very helpful
Carolyn S.
This device is so amazing.
It actually makes drawing and painting so simple a child can do it.
I love it.
Edward
Not worth $59
Felicia T.
I couldn't really see what I was drawing. Pretty sure I just wasted my money.
Eleanor F.
Hard to set up and difficult to understand use. Sorry
Jody
still learning to use it
glenn p.
I really like this item; I had a stroke a few years back and have missed being able to draw, now with my Lucy mini I have been able to get back to drawing and enjoying my favorite pastime. I highly recommend the Lucy for anyone wanting to enjoy the thrill of drawing,
Janice R.
So far, I’m not very impressed. Lucy does not easily attached to all table surfaces. I think this might work best with still life but if you’re trying to copy something from a photo, it’s difficult
Lena
Never could get it to set up and work properly…
MERIBETH L.
Unfortunately due to my age of 71 and my eyes I have had to return the Lucy drawing tool. I think it is a great concept and if I was younger I would be thrilled with it.
Fred T.
Assembly was mildly challenging but you can do it.
Its hard (for me anyway) to get even a poor image. The on line vids were not much help. But can you get an image? Yes. I will keep trying
Josette T.
Delivery was fine.
Assembly was relatively easy.
But I cannot see my pencil to draw the projection
John R.
Solid construction and easy to follow instructions. I bought it with some expectations on how it would influence my drawings. I am pleasantly challenged by how it restricts some finer details shown in the reflection. I think using proper lighting with this tool will help with more precise drawings. It's a fun way to try a certain drawing process and requires patience and practice.
Gregory I.
I have test run on a picture I have taken on my tablet an use a tattoo machine pen tip to draw image on paper while I am looking into Lucy device. An all setup is my first time using it this way. I think it went very well for being the first time.
Candone W.
Very functional device, but takes some time to get used to.
Carol F.
I did find it quite difficult to assemble initially but eventually got it put together, i have not yet tried drawing with it yet, the viewing slide was somewhat awkward to use, but i think i need to practice a few times before i give a through review.. not sure yet if i will use it but its there if i get around to practice with it.
Susan P.
I think this is one of best purchases I've made in a long while. I can see why there are classes to warm up with. It's really stepped up my watercolor game. So important to have. Thank you.
Tom D.
This is an amazing tool. I've always wanted to draw and have dabbled but was never that good. I generally get the proportions wrong. My Lucy solved that problem and lets me create amazing drawings.
Klaus Z.
It's very good.
Hermannus K.
Good Morning
I am using my Lucy mini for a few weeks . The beginning was not so successful., till I use the IPad. .. because this “background “is 2 dimensional .
I am 80 years old. To “paint”” postcards with the Lucy projector is my best hobby now.
Therefor i would enjoy me about the penci Drawing set when it is possible.

This has helped me so much with shapes such as vases. This hummingbird was from a porcelain figurine I have.
Thanks so much for the draw Lucy.

I am enjoying my Lucy!! I have been away from art for a while and this tool is helping me get back into it!!
Charles A T.
Only a beginner with LucyMini. It's okay, thought image would be more distinct. Obviously I need more practice. Should prove a valuable device for realistic drawing. I recommend Lucy for serious artists (made & shipped well, arrives with good instructions & online videos, very helpful).
Tom P.
Easy to set up and adjust. Made markings where needed did an outline then filled in details.
Lisa
For me it was a bit difficult to use , it seems like if I looked up or away from “ The Lucy”… I was hard to get my eyes focused quickly… a bit frustrating for me
DAVID
Interesting tool for most ages. Children love it. Thanks
Julie
Love it
Nancy S.
My eyesight is not good so I cannot use it. I returned it last week but have not seen that it was received. Please advise.
Cynthia G.
I have watched all of the videos and I’ve practiced with various photos and media. There must be a trick to it because I have been unsuccessful. Not happy with the purchase.
Tracey K.
I've only used my new Lucy once but I like it very much. I'm just getting back into art so am a little rusty. This device helped me get a nice outline of my subject. It's still a work in progress but I'm happy with it so far.
Susan C.
I was having a hard time getting the scale right on my sketches of this house. It's a recognizable place, so it had to be right! I put the idea on hold until I found the Lucy and now I'm very proud of what I did. All I had to do was an outline of the house and fill in with my own art. Very happy with it!
Stacie C.
I got two of them.. after watching the video(s) to get a firm grasp of the tool I fiddled with it for a spell,I attained "sight" and proper paper placement. The outline was rough to be sure, but filling in and color was easy. The best part was that this was an intended gift for my 9 year old grand. My "practice" was instrumental in giving this to show in person how it works, I tell you truly when the light of discovery went on in her eyes it was magical she loved it.. mission accomplished..
Nicole
Not worth the money at all. Very difficult to use. I tried multiple setups. It's just to hard to see out of.
Jack
I ordered two but only received one
Michael R.
This very easy to use tool makes it simple to gain proportion when rendering from pictures or photographs. I am very pleased with the assistance the DRAW Lucy gives me. It helps me to move forward with detail work that I really enjoy. Thanks for this wonderful product.... money well spent.
Robert
Easy to use, not as clear of a view as I hoped it would be. $60 is a bit much for what you get, I think
Lisa-Ann
Unable to use it. The screw won’t fit into the part in order to assemble it. Total dud
Raice K.
Have not started using it yet/
Waiting for 2 hospital admissions to be done & dusted.
Most like March b4 I get to "have a go".
Thanks
Lisa
It’s ok and the instructions were a bit hard to understand. I watched the video 3x . I wish there was an option to buy separate parts like the photo enlarger piece
Nydia
This is okay. It's not easier to use than a projector or opaque. I only use those to get quick proportions laid out. I got the Lucy to see if that process could be simplified and I just had a very difficult time seeing the image. I'm nearsighted and wear glasses for that, but I found I had to take them off to use this even though the instructions say that only trifocals could cause an issue.
Allison N.
What a great tool! Still learning but this gives me confidence I didn't have before!
Jennie G.
My 9 year old son used the Lucy to sketch out this little wooden toy jet, and then he added in the detail and color! He can set up the lucy and take it down all by himself and has used it several times already. It definitely takes a little practice, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty cool! Thanks!
glenn m.
I thought I would start with something easy for my first painting using LUCY so I set up this sill life of Hopi Kachina dolls. The setup takes a little forethought but I did get used to it. I think I will use LUCY to try to paint a portrait. It did really help me with accurate proportions much faster than I can usually do, so I can get painting sooner.
Amy N.
Very easy. I got this for Christmas and couldn’t wait to use it. My art isn’t quite good enough yet to display though!
Now I will be able to draw like I see !!!
Valerie E.
I bought this around Black Friday and got a fantastic deal. I have been doing art in my sketchbook daily and wanted a shortcut to sketch people and pets more quickly, and this does the trick. I don't think it would be easy to use without a little art knowledge. Drawing from real life is tricky because it doesn't take much for a person to move, so I got the converter kit and can sketch from a photo. In retrospect, I would have bought a larger one and not the mini so I could create larger art. I love the Lucy.
Melissa T.
It may seem silly, but I have sketchbook upon sketchbook filled with drawings I've made while out to dinner with my kid. They're bursting with wonky plates and crooked cutlery, scenes of a table setting, but through a very wobbly eye/hand. The Lucy allowed me to draw a mug that looks like a mug. This was the first thing I drew with it and it remains my favorite. Is it great art? Nope. Did it allow me to love drawing and enjoy the process? Absolutely. Highly recommend picking one of these up if you are interested in still life drawing and want to enjoy the act of making a drawing instead of agonizing over your lack of steady skill. Everything is made better through practice and the Lucy lets me feel like I'm practicing instead of taking random shots in the dark hoping for the best.
Barbara M.
We think the Lucy tool is a great help for drawing! My granddaughter, Violet says “I love it I just wish that everyone would have one”
Lucy C.
I’ve used the mini and happy with results I still have not received the enlarger I ordered ! I was told it was sent out but haven’t received it.
Newton S.
I bought this to show my art history (community college) students how the camera lucida works. You don't even have to set up the stand for them to get the idea, and see how it splits your vision, which is really nice. They also get to play with all my old cameras and stereoscopes, so it's a nice addition. Go aardvarks!
Anne C.
I Don't know how to set up the Lucy Mini & would like to use it.
Can you assist??
Lorna S.
I set up the tool and I can see the object I want to draw very well
Anthony A.
Great way to learn scale and gain confidence
Aldona
I could not get it to work for me. My house has a lot of overhead lighting and I think that affects what I see. I became very frustrated and haven’t used it since.
Jody T.
This projector does not show the designs clearly on the cookies I was trying to decorate. I've tried different lighting and areas and the transfer is just blurry...especially around the edges. I watched several videos and followed to the directions and used lots of pictures...but it always came out the same...unclear. wish I had gotten a different model but thought I only needed a simple model for cookies. Unable to use. Very disappointed.
Dustin H.
My husband gifted me the Lucy Mini for Christmas & I used it to create a work of art for my father of his childhood lunchbox. I am excited to continue using the Lucy Drawing Tool to enhance my artistic practice!
BJ C.
Returned. Did not use.
Purvez A.
I bought this for my 11 year old art obsessed God-daughter. This was a great Christmas present as she loves it.
RONALD J.
I think this is a useful tool to quicken a project. I used this to paint a footprint of gesso on a turkey feather to be able to paint the image of the duck. I wish I could get the photo assessory as an option, but can't seem to be able to find it offered as an after thought option. All in all I think it is a useful tool.
donald s.
Wife recieved it for Christmas, already drawing, she amazed how easy it is.
Korrie M.
I just love my Luci mini! It's so much easier to get photos transferred on my canvas and in the correct ratios than trying to free hand draw it!
Jon B.
What a time-saver! I just want to learn to paint loose watercolor, but I don’t want to be a sketch artist. This tool allows me to get quick and correct shapes and ratios.
Barbara D.
It was easy to use. I don’t have the best area for drawing so I missed a few lines, but quickly corrected them. Now I am ready to take on a more complex photo.
Bradley M.
This little thing is like magic. It takes a little bit of getting used to (like 5 minutes) - and then away you go! I love it
Rachel C.
I'm having a difficult time getting the lighting right in order to be able to see what I'm drawing using this tool. I haven't had a lot of time to play with it yet as art is just a hobby for me. If there are any hints and tips I'd appreciate it.
Jeff V.
Great tool to get the correct proportions when drawing or painting… used it to get the image on the canvas and it was all fun from there..
Ernie F.
IT'S ALMOST UNBELIEVABLE THAT AN INSTRUMENT INVENTED MANY MANY DECADES AGO CAN FUNCTION MUCH MORE SIMPLY, RELIABLY AND EFFECTIVELY THAN ANY MODERN DIGITAL "INNOVATION"! THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS (SIMPLY)AMAZING DEVICE AVAILABLE AGAIN. BEAUTIFULLY CONSTRUCTED AND PACKAGED. - ERNIE FOSSELIUS
Janet B.
It took me a little time to adjust to it.
I really liked it when I got used to it.
Susan B.
It seems to not work properly. The reflection is blurry and small format. Not helpful

Awesome tool… Be sure and watch the training videos. I love this device and I am a retired art teacher. There’s always room for improvement .
Laura G.
It is a very usefull toll to help you drawing. Takes some time to figure out but easy to get familiar.
Theresa .
Still figuring it out. I have some visual challenges so it's just a matter of time, trial & error to figure out what works best for me. So far , I am excited!
Whitney .
With the Lucy and the use of a manikin I was able to produce this painting. Before I could not get proportions right. Lucy really helped with my confidence as a painter. Thank you
Stephanie N.
The Lucy has helped me tremendously with my watercolor art. It makes the drawing process so much easier!
Abbie M.
right. let me write the review with no yes no questions. I am a former blonde and despite viewing your video I have one piece left over. The sticky peelie offy to be attached thingy. I can actually use the gadget without what ever it does for the moment.
Jeff C.
As a tool, the Lucy I got from you folks is very helpful in achieving a believable likeness. The viewing area is large and comfortable. I shut my right eye and hold my head VERY STILL because the parallax involved will make the projected image shift as you wiggle around, so that can get a little tiresome. The trick is get your basic sketch in, important points...where things are... don't belabor it...and swing the Lucy out of the way and proceed on your own. The Lucy cannot make the drawing for you, but she will help you find your way. It's well made, pretty rugged, I haven't destroyed it yet. Now, the one-eye thing means that I have no depth perception looking down at the drawing surface through the Lucy, so I have to struggle a bit getting the pencil point onto the paper in the correct spot, or I find I'm trying to draw a quarter-inch above the surface. It's a little difficult to see the surface when concentrating on the subject and trying to get them to all register: image, subject, pencil. This takes practice and you will NOT do well the first couple of tries. So, try try again. I use a mechanical pencil with a TINY lead to make my initial plots of what-goes-where and finish off with the usual tools, but to get the details of eyes and lips, it requires fine lines. The image is NOT magnified, which is a clue to my Lucy drawings: they all look small. Another helpful hint which is just common sense: clamp the Lucy OPPOSITE of your drawing hand. I'm left handed, Lucy is clamped to the right edge of the board. It's designed to be either/or and that's nice. My only misgiving has nothing to do with the Lucy, it's with me: I feel I have taken a giant shortcut, when I look at how well something has turned out, I feel I've not applied myself to the full because the Lucy layed it out for me so plainly and I just followed the image, I have cheated the process somehow, but that's just me, as I say, and is actually a demonstration of how effortlessly you can do things with this device. I'm sure the Masters before me didn't have this crisis of conscience, and neither should the student, but don't become RELIANT on the Lucy, use her when a certain level of fidelity is absolutely needed. Thanks! A well designed and crafted product that didn't break the bank. Jeff Callahan, Atlanta.
Shauna S.
This tool helped me reduce a drawing. 1) If you wear glasses, you can put a cloth over the hole at the top area of the viewer to eliminate a reflection that can interfere with seeing. 2)You have to be able to set up lighting contrast between the object being drawn and its background, otherwise it’s hard to see some edges. I may be able to adjust the ambient lighting to fix this. Any comments or hacks are welcome.
Kim B.
Great tool that makes it possible to actually draw!!!
J N.
A nice little tool for getting started! Thank you.
Jay G.
What a great tool , it’s been pretty helpful.
Travis F.
I must not be doing something right, can barely see the subject I'm trying to draw.
Patricia
It is made well and very easy to use.
Martyn H.
Simple but effective. The Lucy saves me considerable time, allowing me to lay down the very basic outlines that suit the style of my work. It's easy to use and adaptable enough for varying situations. Not being a very good artist, I am certainly enjoying it as a better alternative to tracing on a lightbox.
Joy S.
I couldn't wait to start using it! So easy to set up and see the image. Outlining my picture made it go so much faster with this tool.
I am already planning my next artwork with it.
Patricia
Love this!

I love it!

Here is the vintage beer mug. Lucy really helps me.

Purchased as gift for my Grandson (10 years old), he likes it very much. I think this is the perfect age for this tool as it has many the working parts.
L C.
I think it will be great to use but haven't had a chance to use it yet, looking forward to that day.thanks
Robert C.
I was able to accurately reproduce this freighter for my first ever water color!
McNutt R.
Haven't had a chance to try it yet. I'm new at this so being a little hesitant.
Annabel
I’ve only used it once but it isn’t as easy to use as hoped and works only on very small images.
Shane K.
It's great! It has helped me feel more confident at drawing!!!
Amber G.
This was a gift for my art loving 5 year old! He absolutely loves being able to draw anything he wants to then be able to paint it!
