What If Drawing Was Just… Fun Again?

What If Drawing Was Just… Fun Again?

We made this short video to capture something we’ve heard over and over from people trying out the LUCY Drawing Tool.

The voiceover says:

“It gave me permission to just have fun again. To draw what I see, without judgment. It feels like being a kid again.”

This wasn’t just a scripted concept—it was the genuine reaction of the creator who made the video. He’s a professional ad maker, but this idea came straight from his own experience testing the LUCY for the first time. That’s what makes the video so honest and relatable: it’s him expressing how it actually made him feel. And the amazing thing is, that feeling matches what we’ve heard from so many others.

Including Rhonda, who we will hear from below.

The Frustration Trap

Too many people give up on art before they even get started. They sit down to try drawing and feel frustrated when it doesn’t look how they imagined. And because we’ve all absorbed this idea that drawing is a magical talent you either have or don’t, they assume the problem is them—not the process.

But drawing is like anything else. You don’t get good at it overnight. You improve by doing it. And that’s exactly what the LUCY helps people do—it helps them start.

A Real User Experience

Here’s what Rhonda Sciacca shared after using the LUCY:

“I love the LUCY. I use it to quickly get the correct perspective and have used it in life drawing to easily and quickly get the proportions correct. I also use it just to revive my interest in art when I find it flagging a little. It is exciting with endless possibilities. Even the dishes in the sink look exciting and are easy to draw with the LUCY. Use it for fun and to relax. The result doesn’t have to be perfect or suitable for hanging but the LUCY certainly could be used for that purpose for more serious work.”

That mix of excitement and ease is what we strive for. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about creating. The LUCY takes away the pressure and gives you a way to just enjoy the act of drawing.

Give Yourself Permission

If you’ve ever felt intimidated by art—or if it’s been years since you let yourself draw—this is your permission to start again. Not to be perfect. Just to play.
